Society Activities and Publications:
The French Society for Phytopathology (Société Française de Phytopathologie – SFP) is an non-profit society aimed at encouraging and developing research in phytopathology, facilitating relationships between scientists, and participating in the organization of national and international congresses, conferences and meetings.
The SFP financially encourages young scientists (PhD and Post-docs) to attend national and international conferences related to phytopathology, by awarding about 10 grants each year.
The Society holds its national congress every 3 or 4 years. The forthcoming SFP Congress will be held in Lyon in June 2009. The Society also supports a number of national and international conferences or meetings, especially the virology, bacteriology and mycology conferences held in Aussois (French Alps) every 2 years (see below). These meetings include a prize for the best oral presentation and the best poster presented by a student.
Communication among SFP members is largely provided through a mailing list (about 400 messages posted each year) and the SFP Website (http://www.sfp-asso.org/)
